3:00PM-11:30PM (Rotating) Make a Difference Every Day At Uvalde Memorial Hospital, every team member plays a vital role in creating a safe and healing environment. As an Environmental Services (EVS) Technician, you'll help ensure our hospital is clean, sanitary, and welcoming for patients, staff, and visitors. Your work is essential to patient safety, infection control, and the overall care experience.
In This Role, You Will:
Perform routine cleaning tasks in patient rooms, nursing stations, treatment areas, and other facility spaces. Sanitize and disinfect surfaces, equipment, and furniture to prevent the spread of infections. Empty trash containers and transport waste to designated disposal areas following safety protocols. Stock and maintain cleaning supplies and restock as needed. Follow procedures for handling and disposing of biohazardous materials. Respond promptly to cleaning requests from staff or patients. Assist with special cleaning projects and emergency clean-up needs. Adhere to all infection control and safety guidelines. Report maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
What We're Looking For:
A dependable team player with a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Experience in environmental services or janitorial work is a plus. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safe chemical use in healthcare settings. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
