In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing surgical environments efficiently and thoroughly between procedures, ensuring a safe, sterile, and welcoming space for patients and medical staff. Your energy and attention to detail will help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation, supporting optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities Clean and disinfect operating rooms, including all surfaces, equipment, and fixtures, following established infection prevention protocols Handle laundry duties for surgical linens and gowns, ensuring proper sorting, storage, and disposal Operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively to maintain floor care standards in sterile environments Manage chemical agents used for cleaning and sanitation, adhering to OSHA guidelines for chemical handling and safety procedures Perform manual handling tasks such as moving heavy cleaning supplies or equipment while practicing safe lifting techniques Maintain detailed documentation of cleaning activities, sanitation procedures, and equipment maintenance logs Follow strict safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with healthcare infection control standards Requirements Prior janitorial or custodial experience in healthcare facilities or similar environments preferred Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to chemical handling, safety protocols, and environmental services best practices Experience with hospital or healthcare facility housekeeping, including sanitation standards and floor care techniques Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently in a clinical setting Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control measures Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while maintaining safe lifting practices Excellent customer service skills to collaborate effectively with medical staff and support team members Join us in creating a clean, safe, and efficient environment where patient care is our top priority!
