A Maid or Housekeeping Staff provides cleaning and housekeeping services, primarily for rooms and bathrooms in hotels and hospitals. May also work in private residences, office buildings, colleges, other institutions.
Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront is seeking honest, dedicated and reliable Housekeepers to join our team! This is a large hotel with three separate buildings, so our ideal candidates are expected to be able to work as part of a team as well as independently, as necessary. As a Housekeeper, you will play an integral role in ensuring that our guests experience a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment during their stay; and will need to do so with integrity, professionalism and communication. An excellent eye for detail, positive attitude, and the physical stamina to handle the demands of the position.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean guest rooms, public spaces, and other areas of the hotel as assigned, ensuring all are presented to the Wyndham Gold Standard. Perform routine cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, changing bed linens, replenishing towels, and sanitizing bathrooms. Restock room amenities and report any missing or damaged items per policy. Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are well-maintained and stocked. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding any issues, requests, or guest feedback. Adhere to Wyndham's health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment. Be prepared to walk 4,000 to 10,000 steps per shift , including some stairs, depending on the location within the hotel. Other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the housekeeping department. Maintain the level of respect and integrity when encountering guests and co-workers as outlined in the employee handbook.
Required Qualifications:
Must have reliable transportation as public transportation is not reliable in this area. Previous housekeeping experience is preferred, but on-the-job training will be provided. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods of time (ability to walk 4,000 to 10,000 steps per shift). Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Positive attitude and excellent communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift 40+ lbs. at times. Comfortable working on your feet for long periods of time. Able to climb stairs and perform other physical tasks as needed.
