Job Description

Position:
Weight Room Attendant Wage:
$17.13 to $17.36 per hour ( Compensation is determined based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, with most new hires starting between the minimum and midpoint of the posted wage range )
Hours:
Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week- Evenings, 4-8pm
Location:
Tacoma Center YMCA, Tacoma, WA As a Weight Room Attendant, you will be responsible for engaging with members and maintain a clean, safe, and organized fitness floor. You will also be responsible for providing a quality experience to members and participants focused on YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
Qualifications:
Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act). Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment. Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required. YMCA Foundations of Strength and Conditioning and/or Foundations of Group Exercise certification or equivalent, such as ACE, ACSM, or AFAA certifications preferred. Knowledge of basic health and fitness principles and components, exercise prescription and strength training machines preferred You have a positive attitude and previous experience with youth and diverse populations. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications (preferred).
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and interact with members as they enter and exit the Fitness Center Deliver youth equipment orientations, and assist members with spotting or form during their workouts Ensure the fitness area remains clean and organized; dumbbells, weight plates, bars, and ensure equipment is working
