Job Description
Bakery Housekeeper — Part-Time We do things differently in New Glarus. Since 1910, New Glarus Bakery has created breads, pastries, and desserts the old-fashioned way—by hand. Each product is crafted using time-honored recipes and techniques, careful attention to detail, and high-quality ingredients. New Glarus is located approximately 35 minutes from Madison, 30 minutes from Fitchburg, and 20 minutes from Verona and Monroe. Position Overview We are looking for a dependable, self-motivated housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout our bakery. This is a part-time position scheduled three days per week. Duties and Responsibilities Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floor surfaces Clean and maintain floor and stairwell areas Collect and dispose of trash and recyclable materials Clean windows, doors, and plastic partitions using appropriate cleaning products and equipment Clean employee and customer areas as assigned Replenish paper products and cleaning supplies Follow the housekeeping schedule provided by management Notify management when supplies are running low or maintenance concerns are identified Complete other housekeeping duties based on the needs of the bakery Requirements Must be at least 18 years old Must be authorized to work in the United States Must have reliable transportation Must be dependable and able to work independently Must be able to follow an established cleaning schedule Background check required Drug testing may be required Schedule Monday Wednesday Friday Approximately 3-5 hours of cleaning per day Compensation Starting pay of $15.00 per hour Eligible employees participate in the bakery's shared tip program, which typically adds $2-$3 per hour to their pay.
