Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of residential and commercial spaces, including dusting, surface cleaning, floor care, carpet cleaning, and sanitation of bathrooms and kitchens. Implement proper cleaning and sanitation procedures using appropriate detergents and equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met or exceeded. Conduct laundry services as needed, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens or clothing. Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, carpet extractors, and janitorial tools efficiently and safely. Manage manual handling tasks involving lifting of furniture, appliances, or cleaning supplies while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain organized storage of cleaning supplies and equipment; ensure all tools are in good working condition. Communicate effectively with clients to understand specific needs and provide excellent customer service; address any concerns promptly. Follow detailed cleaning checklists to ensure all areas are addressed thoroughly within designated timeframes. Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations related to cleaning procedures, chemical handling, and outdoor work environments when applicable. Support housekeeping management by assisting with scheduling tasks and maintaining high standards of cleanliness consistently. Experience Previous janitorial or custodial experience in residential or commercial settings is highly desirable. Proven expertise in various cleaning techniques including floor care (hard floors and carpets), surface sanitation, dusting, and outdoor work experience if applicable. Familiarity with cleaning detergents, disinfectants, and proper usage protocols to ensure effective sanitation. Experience operating diverse cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, carpet extractors, and pressure washers. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently across multiple locations or client sites. Knowledge of manual handling safety practices for heavy lifting tasks. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients about their specific needs.
