Responsibilities Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, common areas, offices, restrooms, and hallways using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment. Handle laundry duties including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and uniforms in accordance with healthcare or facility protocols. Use proper chemical handling procedures to safely operate cleaning agents while adhering to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards. Execute floor care tasks such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to maintain pristine surfaces. Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting high-touch surfaces regularly and following infection prevention guidelines specific to healthcare or commercial environments. Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently while practicing manual handling techniques to prevent injury during heavy lifting or moving supplies. Follow all safety protocols diligently, including safe lifting practices and chemical handling procedures, to ensure a secure workspace for yourself and colleagues. Requirements Prior janitorial or custodial experience in healthcare facilities or commercial settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to chemical handling, sanitation, and safety procedures. Experience with healthcare infection prevention and control practices is a strong plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and consistently apply safe lifting practices during cleaning tasks. Familiarity with environmental services operations including floor care, sanitation standards, and the use of cleaning equipment. Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude towards colleagues and visitors. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow detailed cleaning protocols accurately.
