Job Description

Role Overview As Assistant Chocolatier, you'll support daily production—tempering, molding, disc-rolling, batching, and packaging—all while upholding Hijita's standards for craft, cleanliness, and culture. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen and finds joy in the details of small-batch, artisanal work. Key Responsibilities Chocolate Production Assist in the preparation of drinking chocolate, chocolate discs, and bar production. Weigh, measure, mix, and temper ingredients with precision. Support daily tasks including batching, rolling, cutting, and molding chocolate products. Packaging & Presentation Carefully package products in line with Hijita's minimalist, refined aesthetic. Maintain clean, intentional presentation across all product lines. Inventory & Fulfillment Support order packing, shipping, and fulfillment for online and wholesale customers. Help track inventory levels and assist with receiving and organizing raw materials. Quality Control & Food Safety Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and appearance. Follow all food safety and labeling protocols (FIFO, sanitation, storage, etc.). Monitor temperature logs and maintain clean workstations throughout the day. Team Collaboration Communicate clearly with the team, flag issues early, and contribute to a positive, respectful kitchen culture. Be open to feedback and flexible with shifting production needs. Qualifications & Skills 2+ years experience in a professional kitchen, bakery, or chocolate environment preferred Attention to detail and a deep respect for ingredients and process Ability to lift 40 lbs and work on your feet for extended hours Clear communicator with a team-oriented attitude Familiarity with chocolate tempering or interest in learning Valid Food Handler Card (or willingness to obtain) Work Environment Production takes place in a shared commercial kitchen Moderate noise level; physical activity required Occasional weekend shifts or extended hours during holidays

Seasonal, part-time or full-time depending on experience and availability

$20/hour, with opportunity to grow within the company
