GED Full Job Description Description Job Summary:
Responsible for the grinding and chopping of boneless beef, batching and preparing hamburger for grinding, pulling beef trim, boneless beef, bull and cow meat from combo into Vmags, pushing, lifting, and sorting.
Essential Job Duties:
Responsible for adding CO2 ice pellets as needed to ensure meat doesn't rise above safety regulations. Responsible for documenting audio and visual on chop log sheet after each VMag. When the product is finished being chopped, must feed to the auger that feeds to the Kpak. Samples product after each completed batch through FOSS machine to determine if the fat content is at labeling. Removes excess grind from chopping bowl and notifies sanitation. Lock-out-tag out machine to remove the majority of the grind from the auger. Responsible for using the chopper machine. Opens the top of Vmags holding them into place. Logs the combo information into combo log sheet. Remove any plastic from the combo and places combo into combo dumper ensuring that clamps are locked into place to secure load. Use of rack to distribute the grind evenly between the Vmags. Takes completed Vmags to scale to be weighed. Covers completed product with plastic. Must maintain communication with Lead for daily product that is being produced. Ensures that correct film is applied for product. Ensures that each chub is correctly labeled. Places Vmags onto dumper. Responsible for breaking down the Kpak pipes, hose, and wire. Responsible for sanitation of the Kpak and installing plates after sanitation. Ensure label spacing, quantities of special orders and units needed are correct on label machines. Responsible for threading and inspecting labels. Sets the control panel for the weight on the de-nester. Sets the portion for the #1 or #3 product. Responsible for setting de-nester speed and term bar on conveyor depending on product and tray size. Notify Lead when issues arise. Responsible for sanitation of work areas. Assures compliance with all company safety rules. Follow and monitor proper safety equipment usage and safety practices. Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements. Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF System. Accountable to Denver Processing Food Safety and Quality Principles. In case of an absence another employee with the same qualifications and training will replace that individual. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma Ability to speak, read, and write English Language Good verbal and written communication skills Significant experience in production process Must attend work consistently Forklift Certification Knowledge of knife sharpening procedures. Considerable knowledge of production processes and work requirements Good attention to detail Strong communication skills Display strong work ethic and positive attitude Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work in cooperation with others
Physical Requirements:
Standing, walking, bending, lifting, stooping, crouching, kneeling intermittently. Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
