Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Oyster Shucker to join our vibrant seafood team. In this role, you will be responsible for expertly opening oysters and preparing fresh shellfish for service, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and presentation. Your enthusiasm for seafood and culinary craftsmanship will contribute to delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, food-focused environment where teamwork and attention to detail are essential. Duties Carefully shuck oysters and other shellfish using proper knife skills and slicing techniques to ensure safety and efficiency Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the oyster shucking area, including proper cleaning of tools and work surfaces Follow food safety protocols for handling raw seafood, including proper storage, temperature control, and hygiene practices Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, portioning, and plating shellfish dishes according to recipes and presentation standards Operate kitchen equipment safely, including oyster knives, cutting boards, and sanitation tools Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate timely service and maintain workflow efficiency Support overall food service operations by adhering to safety standards in production and assisting with meal preparation as needed Experience Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable Food industry experience, particularly in restaurant or catering settings, is preferred Demonstrated knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for seafood or similar ingredients Knowledge of food safety management practices, including proper handling of raw seafood and maintaining hygiene standards Experience working with kitchen equipment in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and team members Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, and recipe adherence is a plus Join us as an Oyster Shucker and bring your passion for seafood craftsmanship to life! $23.00 - $27.70 per hour
