Summary This position is responsible for leading and directing the Grand Parent Production team to provide quality hatching eggs through strong production performance and flock health status in order to achieve production, financial, and business objectives. Essential Functions The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Achieve production objectives Achieve compliance with regulatory requirements and objectives Build and maintain effective contract grower relationships Support genetic progress within the production pipeline Develop and achieve budget objectives Develop and maintain qualified and effective team members Requirements Education Requires broad knowledge in a general professional field, normally acquired through four (4) years of college resulting in a bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience. Experience Ten (10) or more years of poultry management-related experience. Computer Skills Standard computer skills are required. This position requires working with Excel spreadsheets and data within several other computer applications. Communication Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Physical Requirements Must use safe lifting techniques. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk; and hear. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) When visiting facilities, the team member is expected to follow required safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment. Biosecurity When visiting job sites, which are biosecure environments, showering before entering facilities is required. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on job sites except for medical ID jewelry. The team member must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid all avian species (e.g., chickens, ducks, birds). The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times. Supervisory Responsibilities Manages eight (8) or more salaried team members. Travel Travel is required to all GP facilities within the specified region.
