Job Description
Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding school-based role supporting students with visual impairments in the Habersham, GA area. This contract position offers the chance to make a tangible impact throughout the 2026-2027 school year, working closely with students, families, and fellow educators to deliver high-quality specialized instruction. In this role, you'll provide tailored TVI services, engage in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and ensure progress monitoring is detailed and meaningful. You'll support instruction in Braille and the expanded core curriculum and may participate in tasks related to Medicaid billing when necessary. Being on-site will allow you to form valuable connections with your students and the broader school community.
Qualifications & Experience:
Hold an active Georgia Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) licensure/certification Possess an active Georgia Educator Certificate Prior experience in a school-based setting supporting students with visual impairments is preferred Background in Braille instruction and expanded core curriculum highly valuable Strong collaboration skills for IEP teams and student progress monitoring Reliable transportation required for onsite responsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
Deliver direct TVI services to students, adapting instruction as needed Participate actively in IEP meetings and documentation Provide Braille or Expanded Core Curriculum instruction and materials Support students with varying levels of visual impairment, including those in ASD or severe classroom settings Contribute to compliance requirements, including relevant Medicaid billingRole Details:
