Job Description

Job Summary:
Caker is responsible for carrying out operations and productions that take place in the kitchen, such as baking, recipe preparation, etc. This individual is responsible for maintaining the in-store production process to make the workplace safe and hygienic for all employees, and is also responsible for the overall confectionery production, decorating, and maintaining quality and safety of the workplace. Caker's goal should be customer satisfaction by ensuring product quality at the store. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for scaling, decorating, and producing all Desserts and Cakes. General knowledge of production methods and organization of Confectionary production. Maintain daily par levels and restock displays throughout the shift. Sanitization procedures, maintaining the overall cleanliness of workstation. Adhere to Food Safety Policies and ensure proper labeling of all containers storing food or chemicals. Must be able to manage time and skills with strong organization. Knowledge of all recipes and procedures of all cake-related production. Ensure cake display is presentable for internal and external customers. Prepare creams and sauces for cakes and pastries. Receive and organize deliveries in designated containers and storage areas. Inform supervisor when equipment is not working properly and when food supplies are getting low. Support coworkers in training initiatives. Perform other related duties as assigned Education/Experience Minimum of one year of food handling/store experience, Paris Baguette experience preferred. Confectionery/Foods major preferred High School Diploma/GED. Illinois Food Certification, or the ability to become certified.
