Title Associate, Processing Reports to Lead, Processing Category Full-time, hourly, non-exempt, union (UFCW) Salary Starting at $17.50 per hour plus benefits Schedule Monday through Friday, 6 am to 2:30 pm KPIs Tasks and activities related to the Processing of Dried Cannabis Material, as defined by BeWell's Production Director, and executed under the supervision of BeWell's Management Team. Work location BeWell Production facility at 92 Bolt Street, Lowell, MA (RMD1245) Essential duties and responsibilities The Processing Associate (PA) performs daily activities of the Processing department within the Production vertical of the business, including all activities related to the packaging and handling of cannabis products from post-harvest to finished goods stages of Production. Reporting to the Processing Manager (PM), under the direction of the Processing Lead(s), the PA works with other Production department team members to produce profitable, compliant, sale-ready inventory. Tasks include, but are not limited to, bucking, grading, sorting, trimming, handling, drying, curing, weighing, packaging, labeling, and inspecting for quality BeWell's dried cannabis flower and packaged cannabis products. PA operates tools, equipment, hardware, software, and other systems related to commercial cannabis production. PA supports Processing leadership to audit and track inventory, maintain supplies and materials, and adhere to state regulations and company policies. PA completes all training related to Processing activities and Production facility conduct, as assigned, to safely and effectively perform job tasks. The PA is a licensed Agent of BeWell's state-issued cannabis license, in compliance with Cannabis Control Commission and all related federal, state, and local regulations. The PA follows the company's reporting structures and policies to ensure standardized recordkeeping, and maintain regular, transparent communication within the Processing department. According to schedules and plans developed by the Production Director and Processing Manager, supervised by the Processing lead, PA uses tools and equipment provided by the company and performs tasks related to:
  • Cleaning, sanitization, and decontamination of Production areas, materials, equipment, and inputs
  • Harvesting, drying and curing cannabis material for further processing
  • The production of cannabis products, including but not limited to: bulk flower packages, packaged flower products, and pre-rolled joints
  • Producing compliant packages and labels for cannabis product distribution and inventory management
  • Recordkeeping, both physically and virtually, as specified by management
  • Physical and virtual handling of cannabis products, as required, using all related material handling equipment, hardware, and software (including but not limited to Dutchie, METRC, MS Office Suite), in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Following ALL company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as assigned, to perform Processing tasks in an efficient, compliant manner.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all Processing areas, including but not limited to the Trim and Packaging rooms, Dry Room, hallways, bathrooms, break room, and dry storage areas.
  • Operation and maintenance of all tools and equipment related to Processing as assigned.
  • All other job-related tasks, activities, duties, and requirements, as assigned by BeWell's directors, managers, and leads, as well as executive and administrative staff. Physical requirements
  • Extended time standing, sitting, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, crouching, grasping, cutting, pushing, pulling; fine motor skills required
  • Extended time using a computer while seated at a desk
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for 100 feet with or without assistance
  • Ability to operate in conditions of moderate noise, with variable humidity and heat ranges
  • Ability to operate in the presence of cannabis flower, both fresh and dried, without symptoms of allergy or skin irritation, or any other physical symptoms that would impact productivity, safety, or health Skills and qualifications
  • Experience performing cannabis processing activities, especially packaging and production plan fulfillment in Massachusetts markets
  • Tool/equipment, hardware, software and application skills, including use and maintenance of processing systems
  • Ability to triage issues for resolution, especially those related to processing tasks
  • Problem-solving skills especially related to quality control, tools, and equipment
  • Experience working in commercial agriculture, consumer goods manufacturing, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Compliance with local, state, and federal requirements, including but not limited to Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission, OSHA, City of Lowell, ServSafe, and Responsible Vendor Training
  • Organized and detail-oriented , capable of performing repetitive tasks with accuracy and precision
  • Minimum age 21 years
  • Ability to pass all required background checks and complete all required training , including but not limited to: Responsible Vendor Training (RVT), BeWell's internal employee training materials
