Job Description
Description We are looking for a Mailroom Associate to join our client's team on a contract basis in Columbus, Ohio. This role involves handling and organizing utility invoices, ensuring compliance with established procedures, and maintaining a smooth workflow in a fast-paced mailroom environment. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, capable of meeting production quotas, and skilled in troubleshooting minor technical issues.
Responsibilities:
- Extract mail from envelopes and organize invoices, checks, and other documents based on established sorting procedures.
- Prepare utility bills for scanning using separator sheets and ensure proper organization.
- Review invoices manually to verify compliance with department and customer standards.
- Identify and separate bills that do not meet procedural requirements, attaching reject forms for further review.
- Maintain production quotas in a high-speed mailroom environment while adhering to quality standards.
- Update and manage procedural documentation, discarding outdated materials and filing new instructions as needed.
- Perform minor troubleshooting on mail-opening equipment to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate issues and propose solutions to supervisors or leads proactively.
- Keep the workspace clean and organized to uphold a neat and orderly appearance.
- Work overtime when required to meet deadlines and ensure timely processing of accounts. Requirements
- Ability to lift mail trays and letter debris weighing up to 35 pounds regularly.
- Physical capability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements while sorting mail.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow instructions.
- Experience working in a fast-paced production environment with effective time management skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with mailroom operations and procedures.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for handling minor technical issues.
- Commitment to maintaining compliance with department and client standards.
