The Meat Processor Apprentice is a full-time position working Tuesday through Saturday, with Sundays and Mondays off. This role assists in the preparation of fresh and smoked sausage, as well as the preparation and packaging of patties, while following all safety and sanitation regulations. Responsibilities include preparing smoked and fresh sausage; wrapping, grinding, and packing meat; cutting large pieces of meat into smaller cuts for retail sale; storing raw materials in refrigerated areas for further processing; and inspecting meat cuts to ensure quality standards are met. Additional duties include cleaning work areas, equipment, and utensils after processing, loading materials and products into packaging and processing equipment, and measuring, weighing, and counting product materials. This position requires the ability to lift and move objects weighing 40-50 pounds, as well as loading, unloading, and stacking products or materials. Employees are expected to follow standard work methods and established safety procedures while performing tasks assigned by warehouse managers. The ideal candidate maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area, works efficiently to support production goals, and demonstrates a positive attitude with professional and courteous behavior. Consistent attendance, punctuality, and the ability to manage time effectively are essential. Candidates should also be flexible and willing to work in all areas of production while performing other related duties as needed. Experience in a meat processing plant is preferred, but we are willing to train motivated individuals with no prior experience.
