Job Title:
Processing Value Stream Supervisor Department:
Production Reports to: Sr.
Manufacturing Manager Job Summary:
The Processing Value Stream Supervisor oversees the completion and verification of cannabis strains, confirms schedules, and ensures quality standards and deadlines are met. Collaboration with the Infusion team includes formulating mixes, creating batches, and maintaining production logs, while also conducting quality assurance testing and ensuring 100% compliance with regulations. This role also involves overseeing equipment maintenance and providing staff training and support.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assists Compliance in completing and verifying strains by utilizing physical and digital records. Confirms schedules for strain completions for both concentrates and flower. Ensures deadlines are met in an orderly manner. Ensures all material is properly quality checked and state standards. Investigates any discrepancies in reporting on batch records and logs for kief production, flower production, juice production, etc. Ensures all equipment is properly maintained and receives preventative maintenance. Ensures damaged or worn-out equipment is repaired or replaced (e.g., grinders, resonators, moisture/water activity meters, infusion equipment, etc.). Ensures staff follow proper PPE procedures and adhere to the Respiratory Protection Program. Ensures all staff are trained on the use of chemicals related to waste disposal and cleanup processes (e.g., bleach and isopropyl alcohol).
Duties/Responsibilities:
Works with the Infusion team to perform all duties related to cannabis infusion and processing operations. Formulates cannabis flower and concentrate mixes SOP. Creates batches of kief Maintains logs (electronic and paper) for proper tracking and reporting of all inventories. Inputs data and controls the flow of production. Cleans all production areas to ensure no cross-contamination occurs and ensures compliance with local and state health regulations. Follows appropriate control measures to prevent the mixing of batches and/or weights of batches. Performs in-process and post-process quality assurance testing and conducts visual inspections to ensure the product meets or exceeds quality standards. Performs duties in a safe manner and environment while adhering to all governmental regulations for the industry. Ensures 100% compliance and accuracy involving all product tracking, security, and movement procedures. Assists in monitoring processing supplies and inventory.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be 21 years or older. Ability to utilize computer programs such as MS Office, BioTrack, MS Business Central Dynamics, and other systems. Ability to use hand tools and equipment such as moisture meters, water activity meters, scientific homogenizers, pipettes, digital thermometers, etc. Ability to perform basic math calculations for proper batch making. Ability to problem-solve issues related to production/manufacturing (e.g., quality of input materials, quality of output materials). Ability to quality check flower and concentrates.
Education and Experience:
2+ years of manufacturing experience with a focus on inventory management, product safety, product quality, and consumer satisfaction. 2+ years of production/manufacturing leadership experience overseeing a team of 5-15 direct reports. Experience working in a kitchen or bakery for commercial or large-scale operations. Experience reading schedules and meeting quotas based on production needs (preferred).
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand, walk, and bend. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to carry product totes, push carts, and move and adjust process equipment. Applicants must have a clean facial presentation, which includes either a clean-shaven face or a neatly groomed appearance, as this position requires a form-fitted mask that will be provided upon hire. Respiratory Fit Test - Completion of a two-part evaluation for respiratory clearance: Part 1: A written health questionnaire to evaluate your medical history and eligibility for respirator use. Part 2: A respiratory fit test to ensure proper fit and functionality of the equipment required for this position.
