Job Description
- Job Title: Tray Builder
- Job Description
- This role plays a critical part in supporting patient care by assembling meal trays accurately, efficiently, and with compassion. You will work closely with dietary staff to meet medical nutrition guidelines while ensuring every tray is correct, clean, and delivered on time.
- Responsibilities
- + Prepare and assemble meal trays based on patient dietary restrictions, allergies, and preferences.
+ Review tray tickets and verify components against nutrition standards and portion sizes.
+ Safely handle food items, packaging, utensils, and sanitation supplies.
+ Coordinate with kitchen and delivery staff to ensure timely tray distribution.
+ Replenish tray line items and monitor expiration dates.
+ Maintain cleanliness and organization of tray assembly area.
+ Communicate tray or menu discrepancies to supervisors immediately.
+ Uphold infection control and hospital safety policies during all tasks.
- Essential Skills
- + Experience in foodservice, retail, or customer service. + Knowledge in food preparation and handling. + Ability to work as part of a team and coordinate tasks efficiently. + Strong organizational and communication skills. + Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- + Experience in hospitality, housekeeping, or general labor. + Skills as a line cook, kitchen assistant, or cashier. + Customer service oriented attitude and attention to detail.

- Work Environment
- The position requires working 1st shift, with hours from 6am-5pm or 7am-6pm on 10-hour days, subject to slight variations. Rotating weekends are mandatory, and candidates must be open to overtime.

- This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lancaster, PA.
- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $18.
00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
