seafood to our customers. This energetic position offers the opportunity to showcase your knife skills, food handling expertise, and customer service talent in a dynamic environment. As a Fishmonger, you'll be at the forefront of daily market and wholesale operations, ensuring customers receive excellent service in an accessible, approachable way. Must be able to prioritize food safety and follow standards set by HACCP and DOH. Duties Prepare and display fresh seafood products with precision, utilizing knife skills and techniques to ensure optimal presentation and quality. Handle all food products safely, adhering strictly to food safety standards and sanitation protocols. Package seafood items efficiently for retail sale or wholesale distribution, maintaining freshness and quality during the process. Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service by answering questions about seafood options, cooking tips, and dietary considerations. Assist in inventory management by receiving deliveries, checking product quality, and organizing stock in compliance with food handling regulations. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and storage areas to uphold hygiene standards within the food production environment. Assist as-needed with weekly farmers markets and wholesale deliveries. Requirements Proven experience in food production, preparation, or a related culinary field. Strong knife skills and cutting expertise to handle various types of seafood efficiently. Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and engage positively with customers. Familiarity with packaging techniques specific to seafood products to maintain freshness during sale or transport. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to lift 50+lbs. Previous experience in the food industry or kitchen environment is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential. Pay:
$16.00 - $21.00 per hour
