Job Description

Hansen Ag Placement is seeking a Ranch Assistant for a progressive, family-owned livestock and farming operation in South Dakota to support daily operations across a diversified cattle and crop enterprise. This role is ideal for someone with strong feedlot experience who is looking for a long-term opportunity with potential to grow into more responsibility over time. Hourly rate starting at $25/hour and up
DOE Key Responsibilities :
  • Operate feed wagon (NDE mixers, Case IH tractors)
  • Daily feeding and monitoring of cattle health and performance
  • Sorting, processing, and handling livestock
  • Drive trucks (non-CDL) for hauling feed, hay, manure, and materials
  • Maintain feedlot pens: s craping (dozer/box blade) , m anure handling and p en upkeep
  • Assist with general ranch and farming duties as needed
Required:
  • Feedlot and cattle handling experience
  • Ability to run feed equipment independently
  • Comfortable driving trucks and operating machinery
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
Preferred:
  • Background in both livestock and row crop operations This is a small, family-run operation, not a corporate feedyard. You will work directly with the owners daily, and success in this role depends heavily on:
