Job Description

Broken O Processing & Custom Meats is a fully state inspected meat processing facility located in Comanche, TX. It was purchased by the Owens family in 2022. We have been in the cattle industry over 30 years with our family ranch, Broken O Cattle, LP, located in Hico and Kemp, Tx. In 2021, we started selling our grain-finished beef for custom processing to individuals and business took off! We pride ourselves in offering high-quality beef that is locally raised for the average consumer, so when this plant became available, we knew what direction we needed to go in.​ As a Production Team Member, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of meat products. Your responsibilities will include processing, cutting, trimming, deboning, packaging and vacuum sealing meat to meet company standards and customer specifications. You will work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail, adherence to safety and hygiene standards, and efficiency are paramount.
Key Responsibilities :
Processing & Cutting :
Safely operate meat processing equipment to cut, trim, debone, and grind meat according to specifications.
Quality Control :
Inspect meat products for quality, ensuring they meet company standards for appearance, weight, and texture.
Packaging :
Properly package meat products, label them with accurate information, and prepare them for distribution or sale.
Sanitation & Safety :
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area, adhering to food safety regulations and company policies. Regularly sanitize equipment and surfaces.
Team Collaboration :
Work closely with other team members to ensure efficient processing and meet production targets.
Customer Service :
Occasionally assist with customer inquiries and orders in retail or wholesale settings.
Qualifications :
Experience :
Previous experience in meat processing or a related field is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
Skills :
Ability to work with sharp tools and heavy machinery. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Good physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods. Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs). Ability to work in cold environments (refrigerated areas).
Certifications :
Food safety certification is a plus.
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
