Key Responsibilities:

Accompany students on the bus during morning pick-up and afternoon dismissal, providing personalized support. Work closely with the bus driver to ensure smooth and safe transportation. Use verbal de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors effectively. Assist students with special needs, maintaining a calm and supportive environment. Familiarize yourself with the student's needs and established routines, including prior bus rides with the student.

Qualifications and Experience:

Previous experience working with special needs children preferred. Strong verbal de-escalation skills. Paraprofessional certification or experience. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credentials considered a plus. Reliable and able to manage early morning and afternoon shifts. Comfortable riding the bus alongside students.

Seattle, WA, and nearby areas.

Schedule:

Approximately 3 hours per day, 15 hours per week (90 minutes in the morning and 90 minutes in the afternoon).

Time Frame:

Immediate start through May 29, 2026, with opportunities for Extended School Year (ESY) and return for the 2026-2027 school year.

Caseload:

One-to-one or two-to-one bus aide support.
