Job Description
Assist the bus driver regarding emergency operations, child care, first aid, and evacuation procedures. Provides assistance where necessary in completing required reports. Responsibilities and duties of this position: 1. Follows the instructions of the bus driver regarding emergency operations, child care, first aid, and evacuation procedures. 2. Displays the knowledge on how to assist the special needs student transported on Clay County School Buses. 3. Monitors students and their needs during the transportation process. 4. Displays a positive attitude and promotes a safe, calm environment. 5. Develops a positive working relationship with parents. Complies with requirements regarding confidentiality. 6. Assists in loading and unloading students in accordance with established procedures. 7. Secures students and equipment in keeping with safety requirements. 8. Supervises students if the driver must leave the bus. 9. Complies with all reporting requirements including accident/incident reports involving students and/or self. 10. Performs other duties of similar nature or level.
