Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Bus Aide, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and supportive transportation of students, including those with special needs. Your energetic and compassionate presence will help create a positive environment during daily commutes, assisting students with disabilities or behavioral challenges while adhering to school policies and safety regulations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in students' lives by providing supervision, support, and care during transit. Responsibilities Assist students boarding and exiting buses, ensuring safe and orderly movement at all times Support students with special education needs, including those with physical disabilities or behavioral challenges, during transportation Enforce school policies and safety procedures to maintain a secure environment on the bus and at bus stops Provide basic first aid and CPR when necessary, responding promptly to emergencies or injuries Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and school staff regarding student behavior or needs Manage student behavior through positive discipline techniques and conflict management strategies Support evacuation procedures in case of emergencies, ensuring all students are accounted for and safely evacuated if needed Skills Experience working with children, especially those with disabilities or special education needs Knowledge of behavior management strategies tailored for students with behavioral challenges Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and school personnel Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and professionally Familiarity with safety regulations related to transportation and child safety standards First aid and CPR certification to respond confidently in emergency situations Conflict management skills to de-escalate tense situations calmly and effectively This role is perfect for compassionate individuals eager to support students' growth while ensuring their safety during daily transportation.
