Job Description

Bachelor's degree in social work, Human Services, Psychology or related field that includes coursework in the principles of social work, child development, counseling, and or psychology preferred. Minimum of two year's experience in family social services setting preferred, including knowledge and experience relating to community resources for referrals to families in need of services. The skill and willingness to deal with sensitive family situations in a non-threatening and professional manner. Ability to set and maintain professional boundaries with families. Knowledge of early childhood education and intervention preferred. Computer literacy and familiarity with various applications such as word processing, e-mail and internet. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have flexible schedule to accommodate family needs, may include some evening or weekend hours. High School Diploma or GED. Experience (typically one year) working with ages 3-5. Knowledge of age appropriate behaviors and safety practices a plus. Knowledge of safety practices as they relate to pre-school children. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to travel; some overnight and with short notice.
