Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Bus Matron / School Bus Attendant in, where your role is vital in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of students during their daily transportation. This energetic and rewarding position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives while maintaining a safe and supportive environment on the bus. You will be responsible for supervising students, enforcing safety protocols, and providing assistance to children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or special education requirements. Your proactive approach and caring attitude will help foster a secure and welcoming atmosphere for all passengers. Duties Supervise students during transportation, ensuring they remain seated and follow safety rules at all times Assist children with disabilities or special needs, supporting their physical and behavioral requirements during transit Enforce school policies and transportation safety regulations to promote a secure environment onboard Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and emergency responders as needed Administer basic first aid and CPR in case of minor injuries or medical emergencies Support behavior management strategies to address student discipline issues calmly and effectively Conduct evacuation procedures swiftly and safely in emergency situations, ensuring all students are accounted for Maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to school policies at all times Skills Proven experience working with children, especially those with disabilities or special education needs Knowledge of first aid procedures, CPR certification preferred Strong conflict management and behavior management skills to handle challenging situations confidently Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students, parents, and school personnel Familiarity with school policy enforcement, safety regulations, and evacuation procedures Compassionate approach to supporting children with physical disabilities or behavioral challenges Excellent student supervision skills combined with a proactive attitude toward safety and well-being This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute positively to students' daily routines while developing valuable skills in transportation safety, child care, and special education support.
