Job Description

Summer Work! Seeking Experienced School Bus Monitors for BOCES Summer School. Guaranteed minimum 5 hours a day! $21.00 Must have school bus monitor experience with 10 Hour Basic Course Certificate. Join us for the Summer session. Starting July 6th through August 14th 2026.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and supervise students during bus rides to ensure their safety and well-being. Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring they follow proper safety procedures. Maintain order and discipline on the bus, addressing any behavioral issues that may arise. Communicate with the bus driver and school staff regarding any concerns or incidents during the bus ride. Provide support to students with special needs, ensuring their specific requirements are met. Foster a positive and inclusive environment on the bus, promoting respect and cooperation among students. Educate students on proper bus behavior and safety rules.
Qualifications:
MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD
Must have school bus monitor experience. All others need not apply. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and school staff. Ability to manage conflicts and behavioral issues in a calm and professional manner. Familiarity with special education practices and techniques. Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle unexpected challenges.
