Job Description

Niagara Falls Coach Lines - School Bus Aide Job Summary The Bus Aide plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during transportation to and from school. This position involves assisting the bus driver in managing student behavior, providing support to children with special needs, and ensuring a positive and safe environment on the bus. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children, particularly in educational or childcare settings. Responsibilities Assist the bus driver in maintaining a safe and orderly environment on the bus. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding student needs and behavior. Monitor student behavior and implement appropriate behavior management strategies. Provide support to students with special educational needs, ensuring their comfort and safety during transit. Educate students about safety protocols while boarding, riding, and exiting the bus. Respond to any conflicts or issues that arise among students in a calm and effective manner. Administer first aid when necessary and ensure that all health-related protocols are followed. Qualifications Experience working with children in a classroom or childcare setting is preferred. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff. Knowledge of behavior management techniques to handle various situations that may arise on the bus. Familiarity with special education practices is a plus. Ability to manage conflicts among students with patience and understanding. Certification in first aid is desirable but not mandatory; training may be provided. A compassionate demeanor with a passion for educating and supporting children.
Requirements:
Minimum 23 years of age. Must work well with Children. Must be eligible to work in the United States.
What We Offer:
Competitive wages starting at $18.50/hr. Guaranteed minimum 20 hours while school is in session. Paid holidays, sick pay, bereavement pay available. Unemployment is also available for extended school holidays and during the summer.
