Job Description

MSHS Center Aide Location:
26 Mechanics Street, Shiloh, OH 44878
Schedule:
Monday•Friday (6:00 AM•4:00 PM)
Weekly Hours:
40 hours per week (February•November)
Employment Type:
Seasonal Full-Time Pay Rate:
$18.00•$19.61 per hour, based on education
Position Overview:
Provide support for the daily operations of the Migrant and Seasonal Head Start (MSHS) program, including classroom assistance, transportation safety monitoring, and nutrition/cleaning support. Ensure safe, clean, and developmentally appropriate environments while following Head Start Performance Standards, licensing requirements, and agency policies. Why Work for GLCAP? Education:
High school diploma or GED.
Experience:
Early childhood development or related childcare experience preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Classroom Duties:
Organize, sanitize and store classroom equipment and supplies. Assist in coordinating and implementing lesson plans and classroom activities. Assist with educational home visits. Assist with record keeping duties and preparing and maintaining program materials. Assist in enforcing self-care activities and enforcing safety rules and procedures. Set up and take down classroom and lunch equipment. Ensure dishes, trays and food service areas are cleaned daily. Other duties and responsibilities as directed
Bus Duties:
Ensure children are always supervised and follow safety rules and procedures on the bus. Assist each child with proper securing of child safety restraint system; ensure child safety restraint systems are always fastened properly while the bus is in motion. Adhere to child pick-up and release procedures. Meet each child/parent cheerfully at the bus door and assist the child in boarding/exiting the bus. Assist with the pre and post trip inspection to ensure aisles and emergency exits are clear and no child is left on the bus. Participate in required bus monitor trainings outlined in the Head Start Performance Standards. Other duties and responsibilities as directed
Nutrition Aide/Janitor Duties:
Maintain accurate meal count; prepare meals and snacks. Pick up catered lunches; monitor food temperature; smell and taste food before serving. Distribute meals and snacks to individual classrooms. Restock groceries and supplies. Arrange tables and classroom equipment; clean and sanitize toys. Other duties and responsibilities as directed.
Additional Requirements:
Must have dependable transportation available for daily use. Initial and periodic physical exams required. Must submit to initial and/or periodic state and/or federal criminal checks.
