Job Summary The purpose of the Bus Monitor position is to assist the Bus Driver with safety and student management, aboard the school bus depending on assignment in the Metro Nashville Public School System. What you will do Assist students with special needs during loading and unloading the school bus Assist with wheelchair lift and secures wheelchairs, infant seats, and seatbelts, and other safety equipment for each student as required Assist the Bus Driver in traffic situations Monitors student passengers from the rear of the bus to observe all student needs Redirect disruptive or aggressive behavior and provide comfort to the students as needed Assist with cleanup of body fluid spills and dispose of clean up material, disinfect contaminated area as required Assist with student referrals for disruptive behavior on the school bus Assist Substitute bus driver with route instructions Assist Bus Driver with maintaining the cleanliness of the school bus Attends all scheduled professional development/cluster meetings Must provide student safety checks to ensure all students have exited the bus after each run Communicate professionally with parents and staff Attend meetings with principals, parents and staff to resolve behavior concerns as needed Completes routine checks on students during transport Assist with maintaining required documentation, (emergency evacuations, student attendance) Bus Monitor work assignments will be made based on district needs Bus Monitors will be required to report to varying bus locations across the district Education Qualifications High School Diploma graduate or equivalent Required Experience Qualifications 1-3 years Equivalent or directly related experience Required Licenses and Certifications

$20.45 Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
