Job Description

The position of a School Safety Monitor will be available immediately at East Central ISD . All individuals (district employees included) who are interested in this position must apply online through Frontline via the district website. The deadline for submitting an application is until the position is filled.
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Under general supervision, the School Safety Monitor protects the rights and property of the school, District personnel, students and enforces District policies, and school regulations as they relate to safety and security of people and property.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Monitor students before school and bus duty Monitor students during passing periods and lunch Report any violations and file reports with the High School Principal Patrol campus for truant students and take appropriate action Monitor school grounds and property for any destruction or vandalism Assist teachers as needed Lock and unlock gates throughout the day as needed Patrol parking lot and enforce on-campus parking policies Maintain a highly visible profile in and around campus throughout the day as needed. Maintain tardy referrals and parent contacts as directed by campus administrator Assist Campus Peace Officer when needed Maintain close working relationship with campus administrators Report any safety concerns to administration Enforce Student Code of Conduct Attend training Any other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Educational/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED Special Knowledge/Skills:
Perform duties with minimum supervision
EQUIPMENT USED
Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals, standard instructional equipment; alarm systems, fire extinguishers, radio, computer
WORKING CONDITIONS
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Strenuous walking, standing, and/ or climbing; operation of a motor vehicle; specific physical and visual requirements; control of sudden violent or extreme physical acts of others and rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously. May be subjected to adverse and hazardous working conditions. Work outdoors in varying climate conditions.
