Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Counselors to join our team for an exciting Summer camp experience. The ideal candidates will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to fostering a safe, fun, and engaging environment. Counselors will be responsible for leading activities, providing guidance, and ensuring the well-being of campers throughout their time at camp. Responsibilities Supervise and engage with campers in various activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment. Plan and lead age-appropriate activities such as arts and crafts, sports, theater, and outdoor games. Foster a positive camp culture by promoting teamwork, respect, and inclusivity among campers. Monitor camper behavior and implement behavior management strategies as needed. Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members regarding camper needs and progress. Provide first aid assistance when necessary and maintain a safe environment. Assist in the setup and cleanup of activities to ensure a smooth operation of camp programs. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to childhood development and special education. Requirements Experience working with children in settings such as camps, schools, or childcare (babysitting experience is also valuable). Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques. Background in early childhood education or special education is preferred but not required. Familiarity with theater or creative arts is a plus for leading engaging activities. Certification in first aid/CPR is highly desirable; training may be provided. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of children. A positive attitude, patience, and enthusiasm for outdoor activities are essential.
