The Town of Marana is seeking a Recreation Programmer to work in the Parks & Recreation department with a specialty in the areas of customer service and facility front desk oversight. This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for someone interested in working in a fast-paced environment. The Recreation Programmer is responsible for working alongside part-time staff to provide customer service through daily facility use. The Recreation Programmer assists the Parks and Recreation Department in connecting the public to quality recreation programs, services, and events. This position is critical to the efficient and effective delivery of services for the Town of Marana within the specialized areas of the Marana Aquatic and Recreation Center. The Recreation Programmer will directly be involved in supporting Town Strategic Plan initiatives related to the pursuit of classes, programs, and offerings. $21.68 - $26.56 Placement within the expected hiring range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget. Salary Range:
$21.68 - $31.44 Assists with facility operations, maintenance and day-to-day functions to include (but not limited to) taking reservations, selling membership passes, and selling daily passes. Communicates and upholds department policies related to transactions, including program and membership cancellations and refunds. Ensures facilities and equipment are safe, clean and arranged to meet the requirements of scheduled programs, activities and events. Performs on-site program inspections and evaluations to ensure compliance with program and safety policies and procedures. Assists in the planning, coordination, promotion, implementation, and lead of recreational activities in the specialty program areas of the Marana Aquatic and Recreation Center. Prepares and executes advertisement and promotional plans for programs and facilities. Assists with purchasing necessary equipment and supplies. Plans and organizes the distribution, care, use and maintenance of supplies and equipment for assigned programs and facilities Documents and maintains records and reports on data pertaining to programs, activities, events and facilities Assists in the preparation of social media announcements, bulletins and promotional materials including news releases, flyers, pamphlets, and brochures Attends meetings and acts as the department liaison when necessary Plans, coordinates and staffs department outreach activities Assists with other recreation specialty program areas as needed May lead and teach a variety of recreational activities. High school diploma or GED equivalency plus six months of additional education or training Over one (1) year experience performing recreation programming duties. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered. Valid Arizona Driver License Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and a 25-pound lift test Ability to pass the Town of Marana background check, and a motor vehicle records check.
