Base Hourly:
$17.78
Class/Calendar:
A13, 12 months
Benefits:

Performance Pay:
Available annually
New Hire Experience:
1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum

Job Summary:
To maintain and keep accurate records of athletic and physical education equipment inventory to ensure continued availability for use.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain athletic and physical education equipment inventory Keep accurate records of inventory to account for all uniforms and athletic equipment Receive, label and distribute new uniforms and equipment Issue, repair and launder uniforms and equipment; collect uniforms Order replacement uniforms and equipment to ensure availability and adequate supply Select, pack and load equipment on vehicle when accompanying teams in scheduled trips Prepare teams for local and overnight trips as needed Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit Set up fields, including scoreboards, for sports events; set up speakers for selected sport activities Clean mats for gymnastics and wrestling Assist with set up for various athletic events Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities Select, pack and load equipment on vehicle when accompanying teams in scheduled trips Wash, clean, issue, collect and inventory team uniforms, equipment. Prepare teams for local and overnight trips as needed Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and
Mesa Public Schools Required Qualifications:
Prior experience as a team manager, student assistant, or in a custodial or inventory-related role Familiarity with different sports, gear, and safety standards
Preferred Qualifications:
High School education or equivalent Experience in laundry, minor repairs, or equipment maintenance is a plus

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Primarily on campus — in locker rooms, equipment rooms, athletic fields, gyms, and sometimes laundry facilities Requires flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during practices, games, or tournaments Fast-paced and physically active, especially on game days Interaction with student-athletes, coaches, athletic directors and sometimes parents Indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, especially when setting up for field sports Long periods of standing and walking, especially during events or game prep. Regularly lift and carry equipment or bins weighing 25-50 lbs, sometimes heavier
