Director of Golf Department:
Golf Operations Position Overview Serves as the primary ambassador on the course, facilitating a seamless, highly enjoyable, and appropriately paced round for members and guests. Elevates traditional course ranger duties into a white-glove hospitality role, combining proactive service, expert golf etiquette, and discreet flow management. This is a seasonal position November - May.
Key Responsibilities Course Flow & Pace Management:
Monitor course flow discreetly; assist groups in maintaining proper pace by helping spot tee shots, tracking lost balls, and offering gentle, supportive assistance rather than rigid policing.
Elevated Member Engagement:
Warmly welcome players throughout the round, checking in to ensure member expectations are exceeded.
Course Care & Presentation:
Help preserve pristine playing conditions by repairing ball marks, filling divots, raking bunkers when necessary, and monitoring cart path compliance.
Comfort & Amenity Oversight:
Ensure on-course comfort stations remain pristine, fully stocked with fresh water, ice, and apples throughout the operating day.
Safety & Policy Enforcement:
Enforce club rules, dress codes, and cart regulations with utmost diplomacy and tact; assist with course evacuations during inclement weather hazards.
Tournament & Event Support:
Assist the Golf Operations team with tournament logistics, live scoring, starter duties, and staging during member-guest events and club championships. Qualifications & Competencies Deep understanding of golf etiquette, rules of play, and course pace dynamics. High-touch customer service skills with exceptional diplomacy, tact, and communication abilities. Professional, polished demeanor aligned with luxury private club standards. Ability to operate a golf cart safely and work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended shifts. Efficiently transports amenities, inventory, or equipment weighing up to 40 pounds across property facilities. Stoops, bends, and reaches regularly to service low-level inventory and stock items. Experience & Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in golf course operations, private club hospitality, or upscale customer service preferred. Valid driver's license required. Compensation & Benefits $18/hour plus gratuities Four-day work week, must be able to work weekends and holidays Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance Staff Uniforms Provided Complimentary meal while on duty Practice and playing privileges EOS Fitness Membership available per club policy Physical Requirements Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
