Job Description
Personal Aide - Teen Community Support $25.00 per hour | Part-Time | Menifee, CA Make a meaningful difference while having fun! We are looking for a dependable, patient, energetic, and caring person to provide one-on-one support to a 16-year-old autistic teenager in the Menifee area. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with teens, being active in the community, and helping someone build independence and confidence. The position involves much more than traditional caregiving—you'll be spending time together doing activities the client enjoys, participating in the community, and helping them safely navigate everyday experiences.
Typical activities may include:
Adaptive gym classes Adaptive soccer and basketball Trampoline parks Physical therapy appointments Movies Shopping and trips to the mall Cooking and baking Arts, sewing, and other activities Other community activities based on the client's interests About the Client The client is a happy, kind teenager who enjoys both quiet time and being active in the community.They enjoy:
Math, art, and music Cooking and baking Sewing and making clothes Sports and adaptive activities Spending time with peers Getting out into the community Having fun! The family is looking for someone who will get to know the client as an individual, recognize their strengths, and help them have positive experiences in the community.Typical Schedule Wednesday:
4:30 PM-8:00PM Friday:
3:00 PM-7:00PM Occasional Saturday:
approximately 9:00 AM-12:00 PM Approximately 8-12 hours per week Occasional additional weekend hours may be available Schedule may vary based on activities and the client's needs You will: Provide close supervision to ensure the client's safety Drive the client to activities and appointments as needed Encourage participation in community activities Help with social interactions and navigating personal space Provide reminders and redirection when needed Follow established routines and provide clear expectations Encourage and praise positive behavior and accomplishments Help the client take breaks and adjust activities when they become overwhelmed Communicate with the family about how the day went and any concerns Help create positive, enjoyable experiences You should be able to: Remain calm during challenging situations Give clear and consistent directions Redirect without yelling or becoming confrontational Recognize when the client needs a break Be attentive to safety at all times Be flexible when plans need to change You may be a great fit if you: Enjoy working with teenagers Are patient, dependable, and responsible Are energetic and enjoy being active Like sports, recreation, arts, cooking, or other activities Are comfortable spending time in the community Have experience with children, teens, autism, special education, caregiving, coaching, mentoring, or youth programs Are willing to learn and receive training Can build a trusting relationship while maintaining appropriate boundaries Are comfortable providing close supervision Experience with autism or special needs is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person. Employment Information This position is funded through California's Regional Center Self-Determination Program. You will be hired as a W-2 employee through Accura, the family's Financial Management Service (FMS). Accura will be your Employer of Record and will handle payroll, taxes, and required employment documentation.
