Strawberry Recreation District is seeking energetic, reliable, and enthusiastic team members to join our Afterschool Youth Program. If you enjoy working with children, leading games and activities, and creating a positive environment where kids can learn, play, and thrive, we'd love to meet you! This is an excellent opportunity for college students, aspiring teachers, coaches, recreation professionals, or anyone who enjoys working with children.

Schedule Part-time:
Approximately 10-20 hours per week Weekday afternoon shifts:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday:

2:15 PM-6:00

PM Wednesday:

1:30 PM-6:00

PM Required:

Availability to work at least two full afternoon shifts (2:30 PM-6:00 PM) each week Additional opportunities may be available for holiday camps, special events, weekend programs, and school break camps. About the Role As an Afterschool Youth Program Activity Specialist, you'll help create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children ages 4-11 . Every day is different as you lead games, arts and crafts, sports, STEM activities, outdoor play, group projects, and other enriching experiences. We're looking for team members who are creative, energetic, patient, and able to think on their feet. You'll build positive relationships with children while helping them learn, grow, and have fun after school. What You'll Do Supervise and actively engage children ages 4-11 during structured and unstructured activities Lead a variety of games, crafts, projects, sports, and educational activities Help transition students safely between activities and program areas Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment Ensure the safety and emotional well-being of all participants Communicate effectively with children, parents, coworkers, and supervisors Respond calmly and appropriately to injuries, emergencies, or behavioral situations Qualifications Required Available to work full Wednesday afternoon shifts (1:30 PM-6:00 PM) each week Experience working with children or coursework in recreation, education, child development, physical education, nature sciences, or a related field Ability to lead activities with enthusiasm, confidence, and patience Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to enforce rules and maintain a safe environment Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move throughout indoor and outdoor program spaces Live Scan background check required before employment Preferred At least one year of experience supervising or working with children in a recreational, educational, camp, or youth program setting Valid driver's license Why Join Strawberry Recreation District?
