P.E. Instructor Part-Time | Wednesdays, 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. | $20-$30/hour SOCHH is looking for an energetic, caring, and engaging P.E. Instructor to help create a positive and active experience for our students. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with children and has an interest in physical activity, recreation, coaching, education, or child development. The P.E. Instructor will lead structured activities, encourage teamwork and participation, and help students build confidence and physical skills in a fun and supportive environment. The position may also include supporting recess activities, coordinating parent and student volunteers, and helping with occasional campus tasks. What You'll DoPhysical Education & Outdoor Activities Lead structured, inclusive recess and outdoor play activities. Teach age-appropriate PE and movement-based games. Introduce students to a variety of sports, games, and physical activities. Encourage teamwork, cooperation, sportsmanship, and skill development. Adapt activities to accommodate different ages, abilities, and comfort levels. Create an environment where students feel comfortable participating and trying new activities. Help students develop positive habits around movement, activity, and teamwork. Student Support & Supervision Actively supervise students during PE, recess, and outdoor activities. Engage with students and build positive relationships. Encourage students who may be hesitant to participate. Help students navigate routine disagreements or challenges during games and activities. Reinforce SOCHH expectations for safety, respect, and inclusion. Communicate relevant student concerns or patterns to teachers or directors. Volunteer Support Help coordinate parent and student volunteers supporting recess and outdoor activities. Provide clear direction and support to volunteers. Help organize volunteer responsibilities and activities. Communicate expectations and make sure volunteers feel comfortable in their roles. Campus Support Help keep outdoor activity areas organized and ready for students. Return sports equipment, games, and supplies to their proper places. Help maintain PE and recess equipment. Assist with light campus tasks when needed, such as sanitizing tables or organizing closets. Help keep shared spaces clean and ready for use. Experience & Qualifications Experience in any of the following is a plus: Physical education Coaching Youth programs or recreation Education Child development Behavioral support Camp or outdoor programming CPR/First Aid certification is preferred. We are open to candidates with different backgrounds and levels of experience. Compensation will reflect qualifications, experience, and the overall focus of the role.
