JOB SUMMARY

This role supports Physical Education instructors, coordinators, and coaches by delivering sport-specific coaching and providing consistent leadership to student-athletes across multiple sports. The Youth Leader II helps ensure safe, organized practices, fosters sportsmanship, and promotes the athletic growth and development of all participants.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

After-School Athletics Preparation Prepare practice areas, including setting up fields, courts, and sport-specific equipment. Fill water jugs, organize gear, and ensure all athletic spaces are clean, safe, and functional. Maintain equipment and make sure all materials are ready for daily use. Athletic Practice Management Sign in student-athletes and maintain accurate attendance records. Design and deliver weekly practice plans featuring drills, conditioning, and skill-development activities. Lead warm-ups, cool-downs, and structured training sessions. Collaborate with PE teachers to support practices for boys' and girls' travel and non-travel teams. Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe practice environment for all participants. Game Day Operations Support varsity teams with preparations for home and away games. Lead junior varsity (JV) practices independently when varsity teams are traveling. Assist with event setup, equipment needs, and cleanup on game days. Deliver daily lessons, support classroom management, and reinforce skill instruction. Provide coaching aligned with the current athletic season and model sportsmanship and active participation. Supervision, Safety & Administration Actively supervise students and uphold all safety protocols during practices and PE support periods. Maintain equipment inventory and ensure athletic areas remain organized and clean Track attendance, assist with weekly practice planning, and support communication with staff. Reinforce program expectations, sportsmanship standards, and team values. Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and integrity. Qualifications & Skills Experience working with youth in athletics, recreation, or coaching settings.
