Job Description

The Glen Scripps Ranch is looking for a
Part Time Fitness Coordinator Schedule Monday-Thursday:
8AM- 1PM Pay range : 23.50-24.50 per hour Must have : Current ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA or other accredited personal training certification.
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Fitness Coordinator promotes and implements health, wellness, and physical activities, to assist in the well being and quality of life of our older adult residents.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES
: Designs older adult group fitness classes with broad background of expertise. Teaches a variety of fitness classes: (i.e.: Aerobics, Aqua, Balance, Flexibility and Strength Training). Provides Fitness Center Orientations for residents by conducting cardiovascular and strength equipment demonstrations on proper technique, to ensure all residents have sufficient knowledge and skill when using the equipment. Reviews health history for appropriate fitness programming.
Performs Senior Fitness Testing:
document accurate/confidential scoring, design and implement customized fitness programs for residents of varying abilities. Provides personal training for individuals with special needs or rehabilitation. Interacts with staff, residents and/or family members to provide educational programs/consultation on health and fitness related topics. Submits health and fitness related articles for the fitness newsletter. Assists with upkeep of gyms, fitness studio, and pool areas on a daily basis. Assists with scheduled walks, golf tournaments, and games such as bocce, shuffleboard, and tennis. Assists with special fitness/wellness events and walking programs. Assists with resident participation tracking and fitness class/gym attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum three years experience teaching older adult group fitness classes. Current ACE, ACSM, NASM, NSCA or other accredited personal training certification. Maintains current Adult CPR, AED, and First Aid certification. Senior Fitness Instructor certification preferred. Balance and Mobility Instructor Certification preferred. Specialty Certifications preferred (i.e.: Zumba Gold, Arthritis, Parkinson's Disease). #TheGlen1
