RAFT is looking for enthusiastic Camp Counselor to support campers and instructors in creating a safe, engaging, and dynamic learning environment. Perfect for high school or college students considering a teaching career, this role offers valuable hands-on experience while inspiring young learners to explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). What You'll Do Help set up and clean up daily hands-on activities. Support teachers in guiding campers' focus and ensuring smooth transitions between lessons. Foster a positive, collaborative atmosphere among campers. Keep the classroom organized by replenishing supplies and helping lead staff move materials to and from central storage. Package and store reusable materials at the end of each week. Complete at least 9 hours of onboarding, professional development, and staff meetings before camp begins. Participate in after-camp debrief sessions. Be attentive to the needs of campers and staff, assisting with issues as they arise. Help organize and collect pre- and post-camp student surveys. Take on other related responsibilities as needed. Supervise outdoor activities, ensuring camper safety at all times. Serve as a positive role model and mentor, encouraging interest in STEAM careers. Monitor campers during transitions and breaks to maintain a secure environment. What We're Looking For Genuine interest and experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings. Availability for at least one full week, Monday through Friday, for either: Full day: 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Half day:
AM 7:45-12:30 or PM 12:00-5:00. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, hands-on learning environment. Proactive problem-solving skills, reliability, and a collaborative spirit. Strong professionalism to complete training and assigned tasks with excellence. Must obtain TB Risk Assessment and fingerprint clearance (paid for by RAFT). Upper high school or college student. Prior experience as a camp counselor or youth leader preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills. Why Join RAFT's STEAM Camp?
