Assistant Parks & Recreation Director City of Santa Clara, CA The City of Santa Clara (pop. 133,000), located in the heart of Silicon Valley, seeks an Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation. This is an exceptional opportunity to help shape the future of a department with an exciting agenda that includes implementation of a new Parks & Recreation Master Plan, development of a Public Art Master Plan, major improvements to the International Swim Center, and more than $100 million in voter-approved parks and recreation capital projects. The Assistant Director serves as a key senior leader overseeing strategic planning, budgeting, capital projects, customer service, board/commission support, recreation programs, special events, and parks and recreation facilities. The City seeks a collaborative, politically astute leader with strong project management skills, sound judgment, and the ability to lead organizational change while building trust and advancing strategic initiatives. Requires six years of progressively responsible municipal experience, including two years of management or supervisory experience in parks and recreation or a closely related public agency, and a bachelor's degree. Experience overseeing multiple functional areas within a parks and recreation department is desirable.
Salary:
