A Recreation or Activities Worker leads tours and vacation trips in outdoor or wilderness areas. Leads hiking, rafting, canoeing, climbing or diving activities for a group. Provides specialized knowledge about the history, terrain, ecology or wildlife for the tour. Manages transportation, equipment and provisions and assists with cooking.

The Activities Assistant supports the daily operations of the PACE Day Center by helping plan, coordinate, and lead engaging activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, physical well-being, and overall quality of life for participants. This role works closely with the Activities Coordinator and program staff to ensure activities are person-centered, safe, and enjoyable. What is PACE? PACE or Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly is a federal and state funded program that provides comprehensive, coordinated, and proactive whole-person care to help maintain and improve seniors' health so they can live safely in their homes. There are 180 PACE programs, serving more than 80,700 participants in 33 states. The number of people aged 55+ is increasing in Grand Junction, CO and the demand for eldercare professionals is on the rise.
You Bring:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with older adults is required. 2 years' experience in planning and leading activities preferred. Current SERV Safe Food Protection certification or obtained within first month of employment. Experience working with clients who have some cognitive impairment preferred. Valid Colorado driver's license, unlimited access to reliable transportation, and adequate automobile insurance maintained throughout employment. Proficient in computer programs, particularly Microsoft office products. Current CPR certification is maintained throughout employment. Effective and respectfully communicate both verbally and in writing in a multitude of situations and settings, including highly emotional interactions. Effectively work with and build relationships with others.
