Located in Boca Raton, Florida, our camp emphasizes daily field trips to exciting destinations such as zoos, arcades, trampoline parks, science museums, and nature centers. We foster creativity, teamwork, and confidence while ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all campers.
Position Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible Summer Camp Counselors to join our team. Counselors will supervise and engage with campers, lead recreational and educational activities, and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during both on-site activities and off-site field trips. This role requires a passion for working with children, strong leadership skills, and the ability to create a positive camp environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision:
Oversee campers during daily activities and field trips, ensuring their safety and active participation.
Activity Leadership:
Plan and lead various recreational and educational activities, including sports, arts and crafts, and group games.
Behavior Management:
Address and manage camper behavior, providing guidance and discipline as necessary to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment.
Safety Enforcement:
Implement and uphold all safety protocols, including conducting regular headcounts and ensuring proper use of equipment.
Communication:
Maintain clear and effective communication with campers, fellow staff members, and parents regarding camper experiences and any issues that arise.
Role Modeling:
Exhibit positive behavior and serve as a role model for campers, demonstrating respect, responsibility, and enthusiasm.
Emergency Response:
Be prepared to respond to emergencies, administer first aid, and follow camp procedures for reporting incidents.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with school age children (ages 6-13).
  • Ability to serve as a positive role model and mentor
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to participate in potentially strenuous physical activity
  • Demonstrated skills in conflict mediation
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
