Job Description
Group Fitness Coordinator | Fit Fusion Reports to the VP of Group Fitness, Fit Fusion Overview The Group Fitness Coordinator is responsible for management and oversight of the group fitness program at multiple locations. With a large emphasis on the program delivering high-quality, engaging classes that uphold brand standards, the group fitness coordinator trains and develops the instructor team to ensure an exceptional member experience. Spearheading group fitness at gym level, the group fitness coordinator works in conjunction with the personal training manager and general manager to promote the group fitness program and enhance the member experience to drive referrals, retention, and revenue. The GFC serves as the leader of the Group Fitness Instructor (GFI) team and is accountable for recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and developing instructors while maintaining alignment with Crunch brand standards. Primary Responsibilities Program Management & Performance Develops and manages the group fitness schedule to optimize class variety, attendance, and utilization based on demographics and gym usage. Analyzes class performance metrics and adjusts programming accordingly Ensures proper reporting of class participation numbers on a daily, weekly and monthly basis Ensures consistent delivery of high-quality classes aligned with Crunch standards Supports club revenue and retention goals through strong group fitness programming Team Leadership & Development Recruits, hires, onboards, and trains Group Fitness Instructors Provides ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management for GFIs Conducts class audits and provides constructive feedback to improve instruction quality Ensures and manages instructor coverage for all classes. Member Experience & Engagement Fosters a strong group fitness community within the club Addresses member feedback and continuously improve the class experience Collaborates with club leadership to drive participation through events and promotions Encourages member retention through consistent engagement and programming Designs and executes special group fitness events in all studios to increase member participation in classes and promote the Crunch brand while driving value in Peak Results memberships Operations & Compliance Ensures all instructors maintain current certifications and comply with company standards Maintains accurate schedules and communicate updates effectively Ensures studio cleanliness, equipment readiness, inventory safety compliance Supports risk management initiatives and enforce safety protocols Collaboration & Club Support Cross-promotes Personal Training to drive gym revenue and retention Partners with Personal Training, Membership, and Operations teams to drive overall club success through group fitness data Assists in marketing group fitness offerings through social media and in-club promotions Supports club events, launches, and special programming initiatives Qualifications NCCA-accredited Group Fitness Certification (NETA, ACE, NASM) required CPR/AED certification required 3-5+ years of group fitness instruction experience Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills Ability to analyze data and make program adjustments Adept at using Microsoft Office tools Physical Demands & Work Environment Ability to demonstrate exercises and occasionally lead classes Must be able to lift and move fitness equipment (up to 50 lbs) Work is performed in a fitness club environment with varying noise levels and temperatures Requires flexibility in schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
