We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Activities Assistant to join our senior living community. In this role, you will help create engaging and meaningful experiences that support the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being of our residents. Working closely with the Activities Director, you will help provide purposeful activities and programs that enhance residents' quality of life in a warm and supportive environment. If you enjoy working with older adults, building relationships, and creating positive experiences through activities and engagement, we would love to hear from you! Responsibilities Assist the Activities Director with planning, preparing, and leading daily activities, programs, and special events. Support resident-centered activities that promote social, physical, emotional, and cognitive engagement. Prepare activity spaces, gather supplies, and assist residents during programs, events, and outings. Encourage resident participation and communicate observations, concerns, or changes in resident needs to the Activities Director. Assist with individualized activity approaches based on residents' personal service plans. Document activity attendance, participation, and resident responses as required. Support dementia-friendly programming and use appropriate approaches when engaging residents with cognitive impairment. Participate in service plan meetings and assist with activity-related assessments as requested. Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment during activities. Assist with volunteer coordination and support during programs as directed. Collaborate with Wellness, Dining, Maintenance, and Operations teams to support overall resident care and engagement. Participate in training, quality improvement initiatives, and department meetings. Assist with on-call or Manager-on-Duty responsibilities when applicable. Perform other duties as assigned by the Activities Director or Executive Director. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience working with seniors, assisted living, memory care, recreation, or activities is preferred. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office or similar software. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Compassionate, patient, and dependable with a genuine desire to enhance the lives of older adults. Ability to work independently while also contributing positively as part of a team. Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to walk, stand, bend, and move throughout the community for extended periods. Ability to assist residents during activities while following safety guidelines.
