Job Description

The Summer Camp Coordinator supports the Camp Abe Lincoln Branch Executive in the daily operations of summer camp programs. This role coordinates programming and schedules, mentors and trains summer camp staff, supervises counselors, and leads camp activities including community gatherings, celebrations, and special events. The Coordinator ensures programs align with YMCA values and all safety, policy, and accreditation standards. What you'll do: Assist with day-to-day camp operations, program coordination, and scheduling Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate camp staff and counselors Ensure program plans, activities, and campfires meet camper needs and outcomes Monitor staff performance and maintain required records and evaluations Oversee program areas, supplies, equipment, and daily safety checks Support camp administration, including registrations and daily business operations Ensure compliance with YMCA policies, safety procedures, and ACA standards Promote the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of campers and staff Participate in YMCA financial development efforts, including the Annual Campaign Live in a camp setting and work irregular hours as required What we are looking for: Bachelor's degree preferred Experience in a YMCA camp or similar program environment preferred Experience in program development, staff leadership, and camp operations Certifications Ability to pass background check CPR/AED/First Aid and Mandatory Reporter certification (provided at YMCA if needed) We are looking for someone who displays the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility and adheres to our mission. Must be able to obtain
CPR/AED/FA
certification (classes provided through the YMCA) and pass a background check. Prior experience working with children in a camp, school or recreational setting is preferred.
