Job Description
Leisure Services Assistant Bring joy, connection, and purpose to each resident's day. At Western Home Communities, our Leisure Services team creates meaningful experiences that help residents stay active, engaged, and connected. As a Leisure Services Assistant, you will plan and lead activities, build relationships with residents and families, and support a vibrant community environment where every person is valued. What You'll Do Assist in planning and leading group and one-on-one leisure activities that support residents' interests, abilities, and personal goals. Help develop and carry out a monthly activity calendar with engaging social, recreational, and wellness opportunities. Safely transport and assist residents in attending activities both within the community and on community outings. Build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and volunteers. Observe residents during activities and promptly communicate any unusual behaviors or concerns to nursing staff. Maintain accurate participation records and activity documentation. Keep activity areas clean, organized, and safe. Assist with ordering and organizing activity supplies. Support volunteer involvement and help ensure volunteers have a welcoming and rewarding experience. Assist with the preparation and service of breakfast meals for approximately 15-20 residents on an as-needed basis while following food safety and sanitation standards. What We're Looking For A compassionate, energetic individual who enjoys working with older adults. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to organize activities and manage multiple tasks. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to safely assist residents with mobility and participation in activities. Previous experience in activities, recreation, hospitality, customer service, or senior living is preferred, but not required. Why Join Western Home Communities?
