Job Description Job Description To assist the Activities Coordinator in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual, and emotional programs that enrich tenants' lives by tenant assessments. Such duties must also be by federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern Bethany Heights and as may be required by the Activities Coordinator to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Qualifications One or more years of experience preferred in long-term care. Must be a CNA Must be able to read and understandably speak the English language.
Essential Job Functions:
Observe tenant attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement and report to the Coordinator so that activities may be monitored for quality and effectiveness. Assist Coordinator in the creation of new safe and stimulating activities for tenants monthly. Encourage tenant and family participation in activities. Maintain confidentiality of tenant care information at all times. Assist in scheduling tenants for activities and assist tenants to and from activity locations. Supervise activities as necessary. Establish and maintain good working relationships within the activities department and other departments within the facility. Work with and for volunteers. Maintain accurate tenant records (daily participation sheets, assessments, progress notes, etc.) and other records as assigned. Participate in community-related activities in the interest of the tenants and facility. Assist in arranging transportation for all residents interested in outside activities. Attend scheduled staff meetings/in-services. Other duties as assigned by Activities Coordinator. Physical Requirements Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day. Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum of 3ft. Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents in an emergency. Must be able to kneel, stoop or bend to assist residents. Must be able to use standard office equipment.
