- Part-time The Greater Middleton Parks & Recreation District (GMPRD) is seeking a dependable, motivated, and community-focused Community Center Assistant to support daily operations, assist the public, help with programs and events, and maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all facility users.
Position Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service to community members, program participants, and facility guests Open and/or close the Community Center during scheduled evening hours, Monday through Friday Assist the public with facility use, building policies, and safety procedures Coordinate daily with the Community Center Director and other district staff regarding operations and facility needs Perform routine cleaning duties and assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming facility Assist with event and program setup, takedown, and general operational support Handle payments, registrations, receipts, and basic recordkeeping responsibilities Perform general office duties including email communication, computer work, and completing required forms Work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team Assist with additional duties and operational tasks as assigned Preferred Skills & Qualifications Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills Strong verbal and written communication abilities Ability to work independently while maintaining strong teamwork and collaboration skills Dependable, responsible, and flexible with changing work demands Ability to maintain a positive attitude while approaching responsibilities with enthusiasm and motivation Basic computer proficiency, including email, online forms, and standard office software Willingness to learn — training will be provided for the right candidate Minimum Qualifications & Experience Experience working with youth programs, sports programs, recreation, or community events preferred Must be at least 18 years of age Valid Idaho driver's license required Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening CPR and First Aid certification preferred but not required Benefits Participation in PERSI Retirement System with an optional 401(k) Retirement Plan Paid sick leave and vacation leave 11 paid holidays annually Compensatory time opportunities Costco Membership Benefit Work Schedule Part-Time, Year-Round Position Up to 29 hours per week Regular schedule: Monday through Friday, 4:00 p.m.
m., or as scheduled by supervisor Occasional evenings and Saturdays may be required for special events and facility operations Hourly position with compensation based on district pay scale Essential Physical & Work Requirements This position requires both administrative and physical responsibilities associated with community center operations, facility supervision, and event support.
Employees must be able to:
Communicate clearly and effectively with the public, staff, and supervisors both in person and by telephone Read, understand, and prepare written materials, schedules, and instructions Safely operate district vehicles and light equipment when necessary, including utility vehicles (UTVs) Lift, carry, move, and transport equipment or materials weighing up to 25 pounds Perform physical activities including walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, carrying, and general movement throughout work shifts Assist with recreational activities and event support that may require physical stamina and flexibility Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year Tolerate varying noise levels associated with events, community programs, and sports activities Demonstrate critical thinking, attention to detail, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills Be available on an on-call basis when necessary for emergency building access, locking or unlocking facilities, or covering for absent staff when operational needs require Equal Employment Opportunity Statement The Greater Middleton Parks & Recreation District (GMPRD) is committed to equal employment opportunity.
